Stegosaurus lived in the Late Jurassic, around 150 million years ago, and its double row of back plates makes it one of the easiest dinosaurs to recognize. In Dinosaur Hall at the Natural History Museum, a Stegosaurus is mounted in a face-off with the predator Allosaurus, posed that way because Allosaurus fossils have been found with wounds from Stegosaurus spikes.
